Wedding Fair Round-Up

Wedding Fair Round-Up

I thought I'd do a little post on my month so far because it has been a BIG one for me, containing a milestone I'm very proud of. I attended my first ever wedding fair as an exhibitor!

It might not seem like such a big deal but for me it really is. My work is predominantly web-based so whilst I talk to people everyday it's always through email or by phone. This makes the job flexible with my little girl as I can get things done and chat to clients around Violet's schedule BUT it also means that the dreaded "Imposter Syndrome" is very much a worry of mine. Even though I whole-heartedly believe in my business I've always felt a bit like I'm "winging it" from behind a computer screen, occasionally in my teddy bear pyjamas. So, when I received an email from the lovely ladies at Brides Up North I decided to take the plunge, swallow my usual nervous excuses and just say YES. I thoughtfully planned my table layout, invested in advertising materials and got myself something to wear that wasn't emblazoned with teddy bears OR smeared my 1 year old's breakfast.

My first wedding fair was at The Chester Grosvenor hosted by Brides Up North and Unveiled Magazine last Sunday and it was such a great day. Meeting brides face to face, them being able to see my collections up close and to meet a vast array of other lovely exhibitors was a breath of fresh air, not to mention a mighty confidence boost. Everyone had such lovely things to say about my work and surely but slowly, that "Imposter Syndrome" began to ebb away.

Next up is another Brides Up North event at The Bowden Rooms in Altrincham this Sunday. I'm particularly excited about this one as it's a pop-up mini wedding festival, filled with luxury vendors, live music and a party atmosphere, wahoo!

If you're in the area make sure you pop down from 11am until 3pm, entry is free and I'm sure it will be a fabulous 'do!
